2016 Chevrolet Malibu: Tech Sedan Can Take Punches

By  |

Like the Chevrolet Cruze, the Malibu sedan is known for the amount of standard and optional tech features it offers. This strength is amplified for its hybrid variant.

And because of its auto braking and forward collision warning system, it has been awarded the Top Safety Pick+ recognition by the IIHS, which didn’t garland the 2015 model with that top honor due to the lack of front crash prevention tech.

The sedan has been rated ‘Superior’ for that particular aspect this time around and continued to score ‘Good’ for all five mandatory crash tests by the safety authority.

Starting at a price of about $21,650 and topping off at around $31,000, the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu offers 160hp and 184lb-ft torque from a 1.5L four-cylinder engine, with an option for a 2.0L four-pot that’s good for 250hp and 260lb-ft torque.

Its fuel economy is rated by the EPA at 32mpg combined from 27mpg for city driving and 37mpg for highway driving.
