2016 Ford F-150: Most Popular For Richest Buyers

By  |

The Ford F-150 proves again why it’s the most popular vehicle in the entire US by being best-selling vehicle among those who are most unlikely to purchase it. Based on an analysis from Edmunds, the pickup is number one among the wealthiest in the country.

And by wealthiest, it means those in the highest income bracket that earn at least $250,000 per year. This is a startling revelation given that the F-150 is not typically considered premium or luxurious.

But it’s actually not an anomaly. Listed by Edmunds in the top 10 most popular vehicles for the richest folks are mostly SUVs that don’t fit in the upmarket segments. There are models such as the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Jeep Wrangler in the rankings.

It turns out that the highest earners in the US are more into SUVs than the average consumer. Over 50 percent of vehicles registered in among the richest are SUVs, whereas the same is said for 40 percent of buyers overall.
