2016 Honda Civic Coupe: More Than Looks

By  |

One key aspect of the turnover of the Honda Civic to its tenth-gen model is its looks. If the sedan feels too square for some folks, there is always the coupe that’s much sleeker and sportier.

But the sleek two-door Civic is more than its appearance. It has been bestowed the Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS.

Only models that come with an optional front-collision prevention system are eligible for that award, and the Civic Coupe, like the other models from the nameplate, offers its own.

While earning ‘good’ ratings for all the crash tests it was put through, its front-collision prevention system managed to avoid collisions when tested up to 25mph.

Now that both the sedan and coupe variants of the new Civic have been given the Top Safety Pick+ award, it is pretty obvious what the outcome for the upcoming hatchback variant would be.

Whereas the 2016 Honda Civic sedan starts at $18,650, the two-door coupe sets buyers back at least $19,050.
