2017 Audi A5: US Buyers Await Another Variant

By  |

Audi is preparing to launch another A5 model in the US after making available the coupe and convertible body styles. It’s most likely the Sportback and it will accompany the other two models sometime in the middle of 2017.

The information from an Autoblog report points that the five-door model, like the other two, should follow its A4 brother in terms of powertrain options.

The 2017 Audi A4 runs on a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that makes 252hp and 273lb-ft torque. It is a little bit more than what is given by the present A5: 220hp and 258lb-ft also by a 2.0L four-cylinder.

The Audi A5 looks like it’s just the Audi A4 in another form so the reasons to get it over the A4, especially when it’s more expensive, are quite scarce. The sloping roofline of the Sportback version doesn’t look like it affords enough space to the rear passengers and that might be another issue.
