2017 Honda Civic: Perfect Score Yet Again

By  |

If consumers want further proof that the Honda Civic is worth purchasing, whatever model they may have been setting their eyes on, the hatch model of the best-selling compact nameplate has also earned a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA.

And much like the sedan and coupe variants, the five-door Civic has achieved perfect scores in the front, side, and rollover crash tests. But a robust build isn’t the only thing the vehicle offers.

Buyers should have peace of mind with the inclusion of the Honda Sensing package of active safety and drive assist features that include lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.

Pricing for the hatch hasn’t been disclosed yet, but it joins the ranks of the new Volkswagen Golf GTI and Ford Focus which have also attained full points from the NHTSA. Ratings from the IHS haven’t been revealed for the five-door Civic at the moment.
