2017 Volvo V90 Is Proof That Wagons Still Matter

By  |

Well, just look at the gorgeously elegant-looking V90 and you be the judge.

It’s deemed to be the best-looking of the 90-series lot, beating both the XC90 crossover as well as the S90 sedan, that alone tells Volvo’s doing something right. Also being claimed as the world’s most elegant station wagon, the V90 continues Volvo’s 60-year legacy in the wagon segment. But that’s not all, because the most important bit here is that it is coming to the US.

Both the interior and exterior design elements are looking real sharp; from its concave grille to its artfully beveled rear end, and even being identical to that of the S90’s interior. We’re really okay with the latter, and it’s also worth mentioning other details such as the angled-grain wood trim, and the nifty grilles for the speakers, among others. but all of these are not enough to justify the gorgeousness the wagon has to offer.

Under the hood of this lovely piece of metal, a turbocharged 2.0-litre T5 four-cylinder would be the most likeliest of all, but the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid powertrain could also be making an appearance, producing somewhere around 410 horsepower. The engine trims would remain unconfirmed at the moment, but judging from the looks and rumours of it, we’re pretty sure it’s going to be something we’ll all be looking forward to.

Would you?
