Considering the Switch launched just 9 months ago, it has done extremely well on the market.

Nintendo's celebratory image for reaching 10 million Switch units sold.

Reasons for the Nintendo Switch success!

The year of dominance for the Nintendo Switch just keeps on going.

Nintendo released their nifty new device known as the Nintendo Switch back in March of 2017, meeting mixed reception by people before it was released and seeing success afterward.

The Switch's most popular game, "Super Mario Odyssey", sold 2 million units in its first three days, making it the fastest-selling title in the history of Mario's long and illustrious career.

Nintendo Makes Comeback As Nintendo Switch Sales Total 10 Million

Sony announced that the PS4 had sold over 10 million units in August 2014, nine months removed from its November 2013 launch. For comparison, the Wii U sold just 13.56 million units over its entire lifetime. Being able to play on the big TV or the consoles in-built screen on the go, there are no home squabbles with this one. At some point in 2018 as well Nintendo will launch their full online network for the Switch which should hopefully bring more excitement to the platform as more features are revealed over the coming weeks and months.

Sales likely would have been even higher had Nintendo not run into production issues early on.

According to an interview with Japanese publication Nikkei (via industry analyst Dr. Serkan Toto), Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Mega Man publisher Capcom has desires to port even more games over to Nintendo's new hybrid console, the Switch.

Unofficial estimates though put it at around 32 million worldwide after four years, which means it's now being outpaced in sales by both the PlayStation 4 and Switch.

Of course, the fact that you can actually buy one hurts nothing.
