McGregor says MMA, not Pacquiao, is next on agenda

Floyd Mayweather's clash with Conor Mc Gregor generated 4.3million pay-per-view buys

The pay-per-view figures for Conor McGregor's novelty boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather have finally been revealed and it's no wonder that Manny Pacquiao wants in on the action. After the bout, McGregor said Mayweather would excel in UFC.

"What about Pacquiao? Conor, would you fight Pacquiao?" a TMZ reporter asked.

However, McGregor made it clear that Pacquiao will not be his next order of business.

"SHOWTIME Sports confirmed today that the SHOWTIME PPV presentation of Mayweather vs. McGregor on August 26, 2017 generated 4.3 million pay-per-view buys in North America".

If you rolled your eyes when Manny Pacquiao recently claimed that his team has initiated talks, with the hopes of having him box Conor McGregor, well, here's some good news for you.

Mayweather and McGregor's PPV total was nearly double the third biggest fight of all time, which again featured the 40-year-old American. The boxing superstar's long-term coach Freddie Roach is surprisingly uninterested in seeing his most successful fighter take on the UFC lightweight champion, however.

Dana White flat out denied the possibility of a fight between McGregor and Pacquiao, going as far as to threaten to sue the highly decorated former champion and "whoever is representing him".

But McGregor shot that down real fast - insulting the sweet science in the process. saying, "I think a true right is what I want to do next".

Last month, Jesse Holland of MMA Mania reported the UFC expected McGregor to return for a matchup against Tony Ferguson at UFC 219 on December 30.
