Gujarat Polls: EVMs are tampered: Hardik
"When the entire Gujarat was against the BJP and empty chairs could be seen during the prime minister's poll rallies, this victory for the BJP is not by the people of Gujarat but by the EVMs".
Patel congratulated the BJP on its victory but said he would continue his agitation for reservation for the Patidars, on the issues of farmers, including loan waivers and youth unemployment. He conceded results from urban seats of Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat were not on expected lines. EVMs can be hacked.
The Congress Party trailed in second with 77 seats, followed by the Bharatiya Tribal Party (two) and NCP (one), while independent candidates won three seats. In Ahmedabad, Congress won 2 out of 7 Patidar dominated seats, 10 out 18 in North Gujarat and 3 out of 10 in South and Central Gujarat.
The Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader, who has aligned with the Congress in Gujarat, has alleged that the EVMs were rigged in constituencies that witnessed a close fight. The leaders supported Hardik Patel, said the questions raised by him over EVM makes sense.
He assured that the counting of votes would commence in fool proof security with 100 per cent transparency.
Patel's claims have been rubbished by not only the BJP but also current and former Chief Election Commissioners and some Congress leaders. "This would have been the result if EVM would not have been tampered", he said on Twitter.
Using his twitter handle, the PAAS convenor said, "What I am saying sound amusing but no one is concentrating on it".
