Neighbors Hang 'Make America Gay Again' Sign at Mike Pence's Colorado Home

Aspen resident hangs gay pride sign across from home where VP Mike Pence is staying

News of the trolling went viral, so much so that "Make America Gay Again" is now trending on Twitter. In fact, some neighbors later came out to give the servicemen standing around in the cold some chili and corn muffins.

Mike Pence and his wife are spending the week in Aspen, Colorado.

Pitkin County Sheriff Joe DiSalvo said when a man who lives in the home hung the banner, the Secret Service didn't stop him.

'When they said: "We're not here to control your free speech rights", they came out with chili and began feeding them.

He added that the vice president's security have been "really nice". However, late Friday night, a resident of the home emailed The Aspen Times a brief correction to DiSalvo's comment. The VP and Second Lady were greeted this week by a rainbow-hued banner hanging from pillars on the driveway of the Aspen home they rented.

Pence's spokesman, Mark Lotter, told The New York Times a year ago that the vice president does not support conversion therapy, and that his campaign statement was misinterpreted. According to Mike Pence gay is a choice, and he has said keeping gays from marrying is not discrimination but an enforcement of "God's idea".

Despite how some feel about Pence's politics, no one blames the men and women protecting them.

The Mike Pence gay hate is so strong it almost destroyed his state's economy.

Pence, who has often described himself as 'a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order, ' has a history of taking positions that place him at odds with the LGBTQ community.

The rest of the nation was disgusted. Soon people started threatening to boycott the state. As a Representative for IN, he voted against a bill banning discrimination against homosexuals.

President Donald Trump once said of Pence, during a conversation about gay rights, "Don't ask that guy - he wants to hang them all", according to the New Yorker.
