2018 Jeep Wrangler: There It Is – A Nice Bed!

For some vehicles, believing only comes through seeing. This is the case for the Jeep Wrangler Pickup that has been talked about for quite some time but never felt real – well, not until spy photographers snapped a bunch of neat aerial photos of its prototype.

The truck, though quite properly disguised, looked like a set of different components grafted together. It appears as if a Ram pickup bed was just appended to the four-door Wrangler Unlimited.

That basically means that it is still in its formative stages, which is understandable given that it won’t be till late next year that it would make its first official appearance.

Whereas the standard next-gen Wrangler JL is slated to commence production at the end of 2017, the Wrangler JT Pickup will start getting churned out in the third of fourth quarter of 2018. And like the JL, this truck is going to adopt more aluminum parts in its build.

The Wrangler JT is expected to utilize the 3.6L V6 that is powering the current JK model, as well as the 3.0L turbo EcoDiesel mill that is set to be introduced into the US market. Buyers should be able to look forward to a new eight-speed auto transmission to accompany the current six-speed stick shift.
