Four minutes later Narsingh grabbed the winning goal for the away side to hand coach Carvalhal a flawless start to his tenure as Swansea manager.

Swansea's win over Watford was only their fourth from 21 Premier League games and it arrived in remarkable circumstances.

Yet in fairness, they were second best for large chunks of the game and should have been 2-0 down shortly before they equalised as Watford sub Andre Gray wasted a great chance to put the game to bed.

It was an incredible result for Carvalhal's first game in charge of the club, and they ended the day in 19th place on 16 points.

Swansea following the win have overtaken West Brom, who are now at the foot of the table, and moves them within two points of safety.

It was the hosts who eventually made the breakthrough.

Stefano Okaka brought down Heurelho Gomes's goal kick skillfully before weighting a ideal pass inside the left channel to Richarlison.

Richarlison then rose above Kyle Naughton to head straight at Fabianski seven minutes from half-time, ending the opening period with two more individual shots on target than Swansea's collective zero.

"But if players do not play with the commitment and the heart we would not have achieved this victory".

Wague's disallowed headed goal gave Swansea a reprieve and Alfie Mawson headed over as they looked to capitalise on their lucky escape, before Narsingh prodded the ball meekly into the arms of Gomes from a promising position.

The home side opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Carillo.

Swansea had started brightly but the defensive frailty which had seen them ship 13 goals in the previous four games soon emerged as the Hornets went in front.

"It's only our fault, like the game at Crystal Palace, in the last few minutes we lost the game again".

- Carrillo was the 14th different player to score for Watford in the Premier League this season, a joint-high spread of players along with Chelsea.
