But in the same time, I'm just very pleased the way I played on those key points and especially on the match points.

6-3 in his first competitive match since winning the ATP Finals, but was pushed for 2 1/2 hours and finished after midnight.

It was a tense match that went with serve for the most part, with Dimitrov earning the only two breaks - one in the first set and one in the last - on his way to victory. Three of the tightest contests of the tournament were contested as the final second-round matches were wrapped up. (The jumping, not the sportsmanship.) Edmund would end up finishing the match, though Dimitrov prevailed 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-4. I'm hitting the ball well and I'm serving really well. Denis Istomin and Ryan Harrison set up a meeting in the men's quarterfinals. The Bulgarian defeated John Millman 3-6 7-6 (8) 6-3 to book a spot in the quarter-finals.
