You might think "well, no games for me", but a lack of graphical power can mean a hampering of other things, potentially limited development, virtual reality, mixed reality, and more, and essentially saying that the ultra-thin computer in your life is meant for office productivity and web surfing. That question was answered in November, when the company announced that for the first time, it would be releasing Core chips with dedicated graphics from AMD Radeon. Unfortunately I have not seen any detailed information to determine how this mobile dGPU compares to the Intel semi-custom chip, though one slide describes the semi-custom as "new ultrathin form factory gaming" while the Vega Mobile is "high frame rate AA gaming in compact form factors". These will have the "G" suffix, named after the "Kaby Lake G" codename. According to Intel, this will allow OEMs to build high performance laptops that are only 17mm in thickness an can run for up to eight hours.

It still included integrated graphics though, and that's HD Graphics 630, the same as in the seventh-generation H-series. The Vega M GPU is also said to be 40 percent more powerful than Intel's previous integrated graphics effort. With simultaneous pen and touch support, the HP Spectre x360 15 is powered by a quad-core Intel Core 8th gen processor; graphics are being handled by either Radeon RX Vega M or NVIDIA GeForce MX 150 chips, depending on model. Intel has divided the class into four Core i7 and one Core i5 model with clock speeds ranging from 3.8 GHz (Core i5) to 4.2GHz (Core i7). In terms of core specs, they mirror the respective consumer versions of these chips. The 100W processors are Core i7 only, and they can be clocked at up to 4.2GHz (3.1GHz base), and there's a model that's unlocked for overclocking. That's not the case with the "G" lineup, so just be on the lookout for a Core i7-8809G.

The new 8th Gen Intel Core processor with Radeon RX Vega M graphics delivers a top-of-the-line experience to gamers and VR enthusiasts. The cache size is 6MB with memory type of DDR4-2400 embedded with AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL. GH has a base clock of 1,063MHz, with peak performance of up to 3.7 teraflops and 24 compute units.

Let us know what you think about AMD Radeon Vega Mobile announced at CES 2018 and whether or not this is something that you might be interested in buying in the near future.

The chip maker has also launched the latest and most powerful Intel® NUC created to complement the latest processor.
