Woodson is the only player who played primarily on defense to win the Heisman Trophy when the cornerback won the award and later helped the Wolverines win a share of the national championship.

Other notable names who are part of the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2018 include: Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer, Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson, Miami safety Ed Reed and MI cornerback Charles Woodson.

The 13 inductees were announced on Monday morning by the National Football Foundation and the College Hall of Fame and the 2018 class includes 10 first-team All-America players and three outstanding coaches.

Beamer will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on December 4 in NY.

Reed went to 9 Pro Bowls with the Ravens, intercepting 64 passes during a 12-year career. Taylor was a Huskers center and left guard from 1994-'97.

He led the Tar Heels to national prominence during the mid 1990s, and he later won the 2005 national championship with the Longhorns.

The Wichitan was a seventh-round draft pick by Indianapolis in 1998 and retired from professional football after spending time with the Colts and the Chicago Bears that season.

Mack Brown and Frank Beamer also will be inducted as coaches.

He is the 34th player or coach from MI to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Others of note on the list were receiver Calvin Johnson of Georgia Tech, quarterback Kerry Collins of Penn State, defensive back Ed Reed of Miami and tailback Paul Palmer of Temple.
