Police search for missing journalist in Houston area

Roland's mother said she received a message hours later that read, "hello the owner of this phone Courtney. Call HPD missing person 832-394-1840".

Police said, Roland's white Jeep was later was found with her phone and other personal items inside. She was last confirmed seen 1/6/18 at 4 pm leaving football camp in Houston.

Police found her vehicle at a shopping mall in west Houston on Sunday. She appears unharmed. She'll be taken to an area hospital for an evaluation.

No further information was released.

Officers began searching for her over the weekend after family members say she texted her roommate about a suspicious man following her.

Police are expected to hold a news conference on the case later on Monday.

Roland's family has been pleading for her whereabouts.

Investigators later found Roland's Jeep Cherokee parked outside the mall around midnight. Her purse was found elsewhere.

Her roommate told local media Ms Roland texted her that she was anxious she was being followed by a man.

The roommate was supposed to meet up with Roland but she never showed up, the station reported. Her website features videos of her work covering Aggies football and other teams. Police say most of the time she was missing, she was searching for her phone - which was found in her auto.

Governor Greg Abbott took to social media Sunday in an effort to help find the missing reporter, using the hashtag #HelpFindCourtney.
