We can't remember there being too many in the past, but regardless of whether it was or not, Saoirse Ronan, nor her mother, Monica, will forget the 2018 Golden Globe Awards in a hurry.

'Lady Bird' star Saoirse Ronan dazzled on the Golden Globes red carpet in a gorgeous black gown.

First-time helmer Gerwig was famously left out of the nominees in the best director category, something presenter Natalie Portman alluded to when she called out the "all-male nominees" in the category.

The Irish actress walked away with the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy).

She added: "I just want to say how inspiring it's been to be in this room tonight".

She was previously nominated in best actress category for the movie "Brooklyn", and was a supporting nominee for her breakout role in "Atonement".

After pointing out her mother was watching on FaceTime from Ireland, Ronan "all of the women who I love so much in my own life who support me every single day".

During her speech, the Lady Bird star was quick to thank the film's cast and crew.

"If the movie wins, and even me getting [this award], that's her's", Ronan insisted.

The picture bested Jordan Peele's "Get Out", James Franco's "The Disaster Artist", Michael Gracey's "The Greatest Showman", and Craig Gillespie's "I, Tonya".

HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Saoirse's dress at the Golden Globes?
