Google Memo Author James Damore Sues Company For Discrimination Against White Males

You might remember the name James Damore, the former senior software engineer at Google who was sacked last August for writing a 10-page manifesto titled "Google's Ideological Echo Chamber".

On Monday, Damore filed a class action lawsuit against Google in California's Santa Clara Superior Court. They want to represent other Google employees and former employees who they claimed were "ostracised, belittled and punished" by the company for their political views and for being white males. Damore and Gudeman also claim Google shames hiring managers who fail to meet illegal diversity quotas in place, and that male and white candidates are openly said to be "less favored" than others in the hiring process. According to the suit, Damore expressed displeasure with discussion of biases against women and the existence of "white male privilege".

"Google's open hostility for conservative thought is paired with invidious discrimination on the basis of race and gender, barred by law", the lawsuit says. "The only lifestyle that seems to not be openly discussed on Google's internal forums is traditional heterosexual monogamy".

Screenshots of the messages and e-mails from the employees provide ample evidence that the suit isn't making up any of the claims nor are they unsubstantiated.

The suit states that Google engaged in discriminatory hiring practices... specifically utilizing diversity quotas to force more women and people of color into their ranks.

Damore's lawsuit asserts that his former company systematically discriminates against conservative white males.

Damore stated that women tend to be more interested in people rather than things, "empathizing vs. systemizing", whereas men have a higher drive for status and so tend to end up in leadership positions.

CEO Sundar Pichai said in a note to employees distributed in August that portions of Damore's memo "violate our Code of Conduct and cross the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes in our workplace".

Not only was the numerical presence of women celebrated at Google exclusively due to their gender, but the presence of Caucasians and males was mocked with "boos" during company-wide weekly meetings. It's not a totally surprising filing given Damore filed a federal labor complaint past year and began working with Dhillon during August 2017 on "fact gathering" - looking for other white dudes who felt wronged by Google - for what would eventually become today's complaint.

Conservatives working at Google reported Leftists who were using discriminatory language and making brash and defamatory remarks about Conservatism and Republicans, but Google's human resources department made excuses for the Leftist Liberals, using mental gymnastics to defend the harassment coming from the Left.

The suit, filed last week, also adds a fourth complainant, a preschool teacher with a master's degree.
