The purchase section isn't the only spot to get an overhaul - also included in PS4's System Software Update 5.50 are a healthy dose of "Quick Menu Enhancements".

Play Time Management allows adults that have guardian privileges on the system to set time limits on how long children can play the console. Additionally, they have the option of automatically logging the child out of the PS4 once playtime ends. Notifications on PS4 will be sent to the child during gameplay so that he or she knows when they should save and quit. For instance, many are still crying out for the ability to change their usernames, and others are just waiting for the company to allow PSN parties to hold more than 8 players at a time.

Family managers/guardians can apply playtime restrictions in two ways. Games that render at a higher resolution on 4K TVs will downscale to match the HDTV.

The main reason why this is big news is that it should bring supersampling support to games that do not already support the feature, which previously made these games' PS4 Pro upgrades only visible to 4K TV owners. The first lists all games and apps installed on your PS4, and you can check everything you own by clicking on the tab showing your PSN ID. If your PS Plus membership is expired, a PS Plus icon with a lock shows up next to your game so you know which games you can play if you re-subscribe.

The Library also includes a PS Plus tab, which shows your available games. This comes in handy when you've downloaded game betas or demos you no longer want to see in your list of games.

By popular demand, you can now import your own images via USB stick to use as custom wallpapers on PS4.

Sony is yet to announce precisely when system update 5.50 will roll out to the entire PlayStation community, so we'll keep you posted. The main new feature seems to be a slightly updated design, and a giant "NEW" on the front of the box, lest you forget for a few minutes that this was in fact an item fresh off the production line. You can also zoom and crop your images so they look ideal on your dashboard. When listening to Spotify on PlayStation Music, the Square buttons act as the shortcut for volume control. This is accomplished via a new USB storage device option on the Themes area of the Settings menu. Oh well. There will always be another PS4 update!

Lesser improvements are the notification update that lets you delete older notifications from your system as well as the import custom wallpapers via USB feature with which you can use any image as a wallpaper on your console. Because PS4 Pro's added power and modes benefit different games in different ways, please note that certain games' image clarity may not improve with this new feature.
