Two army men, including a Junior Commissioner officer (JCO), were killed and four persons were injured after suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed militants attacked the Sunjwan army camp in Jammu on Saturday morning.

The camp located on Srinagar-Jammu-Pathankot highway, is surrounded by dense population.

Schools in the entire area around the camp have been closed by authorities as a precautionary measure.

The CRPF has cordoned off the area, heavy security has been deployed at all entry and exit points, and a high security alert has been issued. 2 injured, one Hawaldar & his daughter.

Jammu: The Government on Saturday informed the assembly in session that two Army personnel were killed in the ongoing Fidayeen attack on Sunjwan Military Station till the last reports came in. S. D. Singh Jamwal said that a group of terrorist stormed into the camp and started firing. Terrorists had attacked the same camp in 2006. The attack could have been worse given the fact that the residential area has a school inside as well.

The following attack comes after Pakistani troops had violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control for more than three times in less than 72 hours.

"Around 4:55 am suspicious movement was noticed by the sentry and his bunker was sacked upon, the fire was retaliated".

It is also the second attack on army installation in Jammu in two years. They have been cornered in one of the family quarters.
