Mobile World Congress 2018 is around the corner, with heavy hitters like Samsung and Nokia expected to launch new smartphones in Barcelona next week.

Over the past few weeks, there have been talks that Sony will introduce a new design language that will keep the new Xperia smartphone in line with the current trend.

The teaser comes as a 23-second video that can have two different meanings according to the reports. Now though, thanks to Swedish site Swedroid, which has obtained information from a "credible source", we've been given the majority of the specs for both phones, and on paper they make for impressive reading. It is a piece of the many reasons behind why it took Apple so long to form greater iPhone models at last and to oblige people who lean towards a little handset, organizations, for example, Sony, keep on offering compact gadgets.

The Xperia XZ2 should arrive with a 5.8-inch 18:9 display, although the resolution hasn't been revealed. The display will get the Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well. As per the latest spec leak, it seems the Xperia XZ2 Compact will have similar specs as the Xperia XZ2, only with a smaller screen. The photos themselves have yet to be confirmed and could very well be an Xperia Z5 Compact sitting next to an obscure Chinese smartphone. Though its potentially 5-inch display diagonal suggests it could be larger than previous handsets in the Compact range (typically around 4.6-inches), the implementation of a "bezel-less" 18:9 panel could keep it feeling dainty. The report states that the phone will have a proprietary music feature that will make use of its vibration engine, details of which are now unclear. It is said to cost around 599 euros which is approx.
