Terrorists strike in Budgam and Srinagar,Two police personnel killed

Earlier on Sunday, a policeman was killed in an attack by militants near Charar-e-Sharief shrine in Jammu and Kashmir's Badgam district.

Director General of Police SP Vaid condoled the Constable's death in a tweet. The militants escaped with the police officer's service rifle. He was injured after unknown terrorists attacked a police post guarding the revered shrine this afternoon.

Singh was posted with Jammu Kashmir Armed Police which is deployed for protection of the shrine that was burnt down during a three-month long siege of the town in 1994.

A police sentry was injured, who was taken to a hospital for treatment. The martyred security personnel has been identified as Constable Farooq Ahmad, said reports. A riflle was also snatched by militants before fleeing from the spot.

Qureshi who was instrumental in holding talks between Hizb rebellion group and Government of India was attacked by militants in the past as well. Itoo was deployed in the security of Hurriyat leader Fazal Haq Qureshi at Bilal Colony.
