They should be similar to the originals, with improvements to performance as well as new colors and water resistance.

Snap responding to an inquiry by saying, "We aren't confirming or commenting on this report". The Spectacles connect to your smartphone with Snapchat installed and on the tap of a button, would record a short first person view clip. Spectacles now sell for $130 - if they sell at all, that is.

According to a report earlier this morning from Alex Heath of Cheddar, Snap is working on an updated version of its Spectacles wearable camera. The third generation could feature two cameras for 3D depth effects and built-in Global Positioning System, and could cost as much as $300. The third generation of Snap's specs would feature two cameras and would come with 3D effects in recorded videos.

According to Mashable, the new Snapchat-eyewear is already in the manufacturing phase but the more advanced pair is not going to be available until 2019, even though Snapchat wanted to launch them this year. Snap is supposedly talking to major glasses companies, including Luxottica and Warby Parker, in an effort to license its camera technology. Reports also suggest that the company may acquire maging company FiveFocal before the end of this year which would help the users to search for new things while wearing the sunglasses.

Taking the cue, the company will produce fewer units of the new generation of the Spectacles.
