Australia will play Trans Tasman rivals New Zealand in the playoff for fifth place at the rugby sevens world series tournament in Las Vegas.

His impressive play helped lead the US into the cup final in Las Vegas, defeating Fiji 19-7 in the semifinal as he crossed the chalk twice.

The Blitzboks lost 26-22 to Fiji to finish fourth and claim 15 log points.

As disappointing as it would have been for Neil Powell's men not to lift another piece of silverware this season (they won the first tournament of the season in Dubai), they did manage to open up a 10 point lead in the overall series standings to second placed New Zealand.

Argentina, appearing in their 14th Sevens final had won twice on United States soil before, but were unable to resist the power and pace of the U.S. team, who went unbeaten through the weekend.

Argentina will be up against South Africa in the 1st semi final match with hosts US clashing against Fiji in the 2nd semi.

Fiji will now play South Africa in the bronze medal match.

"Obviously‚ we will have to improve come Vancouver‚ but our depth was tested very nicely today".

South Africa remains in the lead in the series after five rounds with 92 points, with New Zealand second on 82 and Fiji third with 79.

"The one against Wales a slow start and we didn't perform like we would have liked to".

Early on Sunday in the semi-final‚ two tries by Siviwe Soyizwapi were cancelled out by two Los Pumas tries‚ with a sole successful conversion by the South Americans proving the difference.
