Even its recent launch out of early access and going free-to-play today can not save H1Z1 so in response to all of this, Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene finally took to community to lay out plans for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in 2018 and it's about damn time. Hot on the heels of yesterday's PC roadmap for 2018, however, comes an outline of the plan for the game on Xbox One. UI optimisations, an improved inventory UX and additional preset controller configurations are also on the cards, as are improvements to the game's matchmaking.

Recently Play Battlegrounds announced on Twitter the fact they are working on a 4x4km island map. New vehicles, weapons and weapon attachments are scheduled to be implemented sometime in the "first half of the year", and improved character and parachute animations are on the way in an effort to "make them smoother and more reactive to the environment".

Console Player Reporting Features: We are hoping to streamline reporting by adding in-game tools that will empower players to more quickly submit instances of unsporting behavior (Solo Teaming, Team Killing etc).

If all that wasn't enough, PUBG Corp is also making changes to the game's ballistics systems, with limb and vehicle bullet penetration being tweaked in the name of realism. Our current model can be viewed as a vehicles body having a life bar that must be reduced before the driver can be damaged.

A dedicated emote system is also on the way to PUBG, providing new ways for players to express themselves during battle. From here on, major patches are planned to be released on a 2-month schedule, with the first such patch planned for March. Each of these major updates will bring changes to specific systems and/or introduce new content.

"This year we want to involve our players in the ongoing development of PUBG even more than before, and to aid with this we plan to open an Experimental Test Server so we can get your valuable feedback on our feature/content development cycle sooner and for you to have a real impact on how our game changes and develops going forward". This new map will be available on PUBG's experimental test server starting next month.

"It will offer a higher player density and shorter matches and we want to get it into your hands early this time around so we can use your input to make it a great experience for everyone".

Oh, and the Miramar map will be coming out in "early spring".
