The two are founders of Pearl Street Films, a production company responsible for films like Manchester By The Sea, as well as the upcoming The Batman, which Ben Affleck will definitely be in. It requires cast and crew on a film to meet a certain level of diversity, and is a solid commitment to increasing representation of women and minorities in the industry.

On Monday, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's production partner Fanshen Cox DiGiovanni announced they - along with Jennifer Todd and Drew Vinton - would be adopting inclusion riders for all future production deals at Pearl Street company.

The A-listers are taking a cue from Frances McDormand, who ended her Academy Award acceptance speech March 4 with a call for "inclusion riders".

" Two days later, Black Panther thirst trap Michael B. Jordan announced he'd be adding an inclusion rider to future projects at his production company, Outlier Society".

"Look around, ladies and gentlemen, because we all have stories to tell and projects we need financed".

An inclusion rider is meant to improve gender and racial diversity within films. Actress Hilarie Burton claimed on social media that Affleck groped her during an appearance of MTV's Total Request Live in 2003. During a 2015 segment of the show "Project Greenlight", the Cambridge native rebuffed the suggestion of producer Effie Brown ("Dear White People") to hire a white woman and a Vietnamese-American man to co-direct a "Greenlight"-backed film featuring a minority character who is a prostitute".

In Weinstein's public denial of McGowan's allegations, he made public an email from Affleck which read: "She never told me nor did I ever infer that she was attacked by anyone". I was brand new to Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Damon came under fire previously for seeming to suggest that there was a difference between sexual harassment and sexual misconduct.
