Starting today, the game will be available to iOS users - which means anyone who owns an iPhone will be able to play it.

Nick assured us that they plan on getting everyone who signed up into the Fortnite invite event at some point.

You'll be asked to enter some details, including your e-mail address and the device model you're using.

If none of these apply to you and the game still keeps crashing, keep an eye on the Fortnite Twitter.

First impressions suggest that Epic is indeed bringing the full game to mobile platforms along with a sense of scale that's on par with what we've seen on consoles and PC in terms of map size and player count.

The mobile version is now sitting at the top of the Free Apps chart for games on the App Store.

Footage of the game on iPhone and iPad is starting to appear around the Web though, and if you want to try and sign-up yourself the link is here. So, Epic Games would like to iron out the major chinks in the game before sending invites to a larger audience.

While this version of the game is still in development, that hasn't stopped dedicated fans from enjoying the battle royale hit on-the-go. Epic also notes that the game is still in an early state, so don't be surprised if you run into bugs and issues while playing. One thing I love about wave-based games is that they, for the most part, respect their players' time.

That's because the Fortnite Mobile Battle Royale download weighs in at a hefty 2GB (it's 1.98GB on the iPhone 7 Plus).

The key is that its mobile version is not changing at all from its PC, Mac and console versions. It could even do what it sounds like Valve is doing with CS:GO, leveraging one of its other game franchises to do it.
