On the global scale, the film attracted $1.2 billion in ticket sales, becoming only 14th film to ever do so internationally.

Marvel's Black Panther has become even more of a box office giant than any of the industry's wildest predictions and expectations. Ryan Coogler's Marvel film is about to reach another milestone when it surpasses The Avengers' North American gross to become the highest-grossing superhero movie in the U.S.

Ever since Black Panther broke Deadpool's February opening record last month, the film has been on a hot streak, breaking all sorts of critical and commercial records. Additionally, The Last Jedi did $619,896,809, which means that Black Panther has now already passed the Star Wars movie with its sights set on the Avengers, which it will easily take down by Sunday.

Since their launch in 2006, the distribution company has established a good working relationship with independent studios worldwide and distributing movies like "Wonder Women", "Doctor Strange", "Justice League", "Avengers", "AVATAR" all which are among the highest grossing movies ever produced in Hollywood. The movie started a new movement and a social touchstone that continues to earn at the box office, causing Disney to compete with itself. In terms of the MCU (Marvel Comics Unverse), Black Panther is the third-biggest comic book adaptation behind The Avengers with $1.5 billion and Avengers: Age of Ultron with $1.4 billion.

The past few weeks since the box office debut of Black Panther have been nothing but the accomplished prelude to an impeccable peak.

Black Panther did it. Box office lists don't account for inflation, though the six-year gap separating Marvel's top two box office hits makes that much less of a factor here.
