Boxer Lucas Browne taken to hospital after brutal KO loss

That Browne was still fighting in the sixth round when he received a left hook to the temple and thudded to the canvas, where he remained motionless for a worrying amount of time, should be debated after this bloodbath at the O2 Arena.

Lucas Browne was rushed to hospital in the wake of his chilling knockout at the hands of Dillian Whyte on Saturday - but the Australian is not thought to be seriously hurt.

"Bob Arum has mentioned a possible bout in the U.S. in February and also Lucas Browne's people are talking to us about a big Trans-Tasman affair", Higgins told RadioLIVE.

Former two-weight world champion Ricky Hatton, who is also Browne's promoter, wished his fighter well in his recovery but admits the 38-year-old will be disappointed with his performance on Saturday night in London.

A high-stakes battle could be an exciting prospect, although Whyte will argue he has already done enough to earn a crack at Wilder.

Whyte lost to Joshua back in December 2015.

The WBC Silver Heavyweight title was claimed by Whyte after his impressive, career-best, performance. I'm a good fighter, but nobody has really seen it yet.

The victor of the much-anticipated fight between Joshua and Parker is also expected to face the undefeated WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, who recently produced a tenth-round stoppage to beat Joe Ortiz to set up a clash with either Parker or Joshua. "I wouldn't be here today if I didn't believe [I can be a major world champion]".

Browne started bleeding from his left eye from the end of the first round and it got worse through the second as Whyte found little difficulty in landing punches.

Whyte may now find himself up against Deontay Wilder next, and according to his post-fight comments, that's exactly what he wants. "Let's do this, June, live at the O2, let's get it!"

Hearn felt a fight against Wilder was more viable for Whyte right now.

He then shared a picture of Whyte from Sky Sports and added: "Well done @dillianwhyte & @lucasbigdaddybrowne - Good Show". I'm No. 1 baby, let's go.

Whyte's emphatic victory over the previously unbeaten Browne took his record to 23 wins from 24 fights.
