It's already available for purchase on Samsung shop. Today, the South Korean smartphone maker Samsung, has launched the Galaxy J7 Prime's successor in India as the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2.

Samsung changed the location of the fingerprint module on the latest Galaxy S9 series, but kept it on the rear side of the new smartphones. The smartphone also comes with a fingerprint sensor present at the back panel. But keeping the fingerprint sensor on the rear of its recent devices has reportedly limited the internal space available for batteries, so switching to in-display tech could ultimately yield advantages in battery life as well. So, the in-display thing should be taken with a grain of salt. But it should not affect Samsung that much, an analyst told The Herald, as Samsung only sells about 10 million Note phones each year. From the existing reports, we know that Samsung is also working on other J series phones such as Galaxy J7, Galaxy J8 and J8 Plus.

He added, "Samsung would want to launch its premium phones with better fingerprint sensing performance against rivals and higher yields of commercialization".

"The biggest concern for Samsung Electronics will be low yields of phones with the newest in-display fingerprint sensor", said an official at a biometrics solution developer.

The smartphone packs an inbuilt storage of 32GB that can be expanded via microSD card up to 256GB. Both devices have an 8MP front camera for selfies.

The latest Samsung smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update within a couple of months, most probably by Q3, 2018. As for the Samsung Galaxy S9+, the 64GB version costs Rs 64,900 while the larger 256GB variant comes with a price tag of Rs 72,900. The phone has dimensions as 151.7 x 75.0 x 8.0 mm, weighs 170 grams and includes several common connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, and aGPS with GLONASS.
