FIRST ALERT WEATHER: A Warm Wave for Spring Break

From the First Alert Forecast Team

From the First Alert Forecast Team

Quiet weather overnight tonight with just a few passing clouds and temperatures getting down to around 50. It's been sunny, dry, and mostly clear almost every day, but clouds have moved in quickly and it'll remain warm and humid for the next several days. The afternoon will have more sunshine with highs approaching the upper 70s.

It will also be breezy at times through Friday with wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour possible on Tuesday, then again Thursday and Friday as another cool front approaches. Temps start between 5° and 20°, inching into the low 40s this afternoon with a light and variable wind. Higher amounts were reported south and west with 12 inches in Franktown, 7 inches in Highlands Ranch, and 7 inches in Evergreen. Our cloudy morning will give way to some breaks of sunshine in the afternoon, helping bump temperatures back to the 50s. Highs today will push the mid to upper 70s by 3pm. We are watching another cold front that should come into the area sometime Sunday into Monday with wet weather chances. Low: 25. Day: Mostly cloudy in the morning with a slight chance for snow. We'll get into the 80s by Thursday but another cold front will move through the area, bringing showers and storms by Friday morning.

The rest of the week in Durango is expected to return to sunny and warm conditions, with highs in the low 60s. I'm expecting clearing as early as Good Friday afternoon, and we're in for a slightly cooler, but much drier Easter weekend! Night: Cloudy with a 70 percent chance for rain.

MONDAY: A few isolated showers will be possible. Saturday brings the chance for a few showers depending on how quickly the next system arrives. Weekend high temperatures will likely top out in the mid 50s both days, which is close to average for late March into early April.
