The return of hit sitcom Roseanne was a ratings triumph for its Trump-voting star and the U.S. president is also apparently a fan, calling to congratulate the show's actress on her success.

Trump was so happy yesterday that he placed a call to Barr congratulating her on the show's ratings success.

Trump was "enthralled" with the ratings, NYT reported.

Barr has publicly defended Trump in real life, just as she has on screen.

Creator, writer and star Roseanne Barr has been publicly open about her support of the Trump administration, a stance that has crossed over to her fictional character. Barr said the President congratulated her on the ratings, which is something Trump knows quite a bit about after his Apprentice shows, which had a long run on TV.

"I think he voices them quite well", she argued.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed that Trump did in fact phone Barr to chat, though specific details of their conversation are unknown.

After generating massive ratings and viewership for its premiere episode, there's a buzz about a succeeding #season for the revival.

On Tuesday night, ABC aired two back-to-back episodes of "Roseanne".

On Thursday morning the self-proclaimed domestic goddess called in to Good Morning America to dish about her chat with Trump, whom she has been a vocal supporter of throughout his candidacy and presidency.

Barr also acknowledged their mutual interest in ratings.

The show was widely praised for fairly portraying a family with differing political views.

Roseanne's sister Jackie (multiple Emmy victor Laurie Metcalf) sports a "Nasty Woman" T-shirt and pink pussy hat of the type worn at women's marches against the Republican president's administration.

And Barr expressed her disdain for the former Democratic presidential nominee again earlier this week, flipping off Jimmy Kimmel when he noted she once called Clinton a "murderer".

Wednesday night's two-episode premiere on ABC drew 18.2 million viewers and was the highest-rated sitcom episode since September of 2014.
