Overwatch's 'Uprising' event returns in April

Blizzard has announced a new series of events dedicated towards Overwatch fans, and especially cosplayers.

The Uprising event tells of a pivotal event in the game's backstory, when London, more specifically King's Row, was attacked by the Omnic terrorist organization Null Sector.

However, the last phrase at the bottom says "Declassified April 10", from which players can expect the Uprising event to start on April 10th. It also gives those that missed out on the previous event a chance to earn those skins that they have previously missed out on. In the teaser post, which is an animated image, there is a moment where the text within the image changes.

The game's official Twitter page tweeted a teaser of its return and #Blizzard Entertainment streamed a new trailer featuring event-only skins and missions. Until April 10, however, all we can do is wait and speculate with excitement. Taking what few hints are here, it's sounding like the new Uprising event will be centered around Blackwatch, which would lead to a whole new cast of characters and setting.

Overwatch Uprising opens up a four-player co-op PvE in which players take on waves of Omnics. Blackwatch worked along Overwatch and helped carry out missions, but the information stops there.

While not yet confirmed, a Blackwatch Archives or general Archives event certainly sounds like an exciting direction.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Alas, there's still no sign of that happening, but Blizzard said the event will reveal stories and secrets from the past, although whether there will be anything new to it, or just a rehash of what we learned last time around, isn't clear.
