What time does The Masters Par 3 Contest start

The 34th-ranked player in the world, Finau is scheduled to make his first Masters appearance on Thursday. He then popped in back in place before gesturing to his family. That came from Nicklaus' 15-year-old grandson, Gary Nicklaus Jr., nicknamed "G.T.", who aced the ninth hole and brought his 78-year-old grandfather to tears.

With all of the buildup surrounding this year's Masters, much thanks to Tiger Woods' first trip to Augusta in three years, this year's Par 3 contest was so much more fun and exciting to watch. Many believed he was a sleeper to win the whole tournament, but his run for a green jacket could be in jeopardy if the ankle injury is enough to keep him out.

Watson, who stopped playing the Masters tournament in 2016, became only the second player to win the Par-3 and not play in the tournament, joining Jerry Pate in 2005.

He later revealed that he had predicted the hole-in-one in advance.

"Since I'm not playing in the tournament, I thought, 'Let's go for it this year, '" Watson said afterward. "What a day. It's one I'll never forget".

It was undoubtedly a Par 3 Contest for the ages.

No player has ever won both the Par 3 Contest and Masters in the same week, and that streak will continue with Watson not taking part this week. And exactly zero times has the victor gone on to win the actual Masters Tournament.
