"I had very great relationships with the Bush family", former Colorado Governor Roy Romer told FOX31 on Sunday.

The wife of former president George HW Bush, 93, and mother of ex-president George W Bush, 71, is now being cared for at her home in Houston, Texas.

She has had a series of recent hospitalizations, but the family did not provide details about her condition.

In the statement, McGrath says the 92 year old has decided not to seek further treatment in a hospital. Apparently, Barbara Bush's health took a turn for the worse after a few days at her residence. "It is not going to shock those that know her that Barbara Bush has been a rock within the face of her failing well being, worrying not for herself - because of her abiding religion - however for others", the assertion learn. The other first lady was Abigail Adams. She and George H.W. Bush married when she was 19 and while he was a young naval aviator. They Wednesday in 1945 when she was 19 and would have six children, one of whom died at the age of 3.

Her husband, 94, also has had health issues in recent years.

Mrs Bush is the only woman to see her husband and son sworn in as United States president. Their marriage is the longest of any first couple in US history.

Since its in inception, the foundation has gone on to raise and contribute more than $50 million towards establishing and expanding more than 1500 literacy programs for underprivileged children and families in cities all across America.

The Bushes have long ties to Maine.

Another son, Jeb, is a former governor of Florida who ran unsuccessfully for president in 2015 and early 2016, quitting after a series of lackluster performances highlighted by tough skirmishes with then-candidate Donald Trump. She later said that dyed hair didn't look good on her and credited the colour to the public's perception of her as "everybody's grandmother".

"She is more than a matriarch", Card said by telephone Sunday.

Barbara Pierce Bush was born in Rye, N.Y. Her father was the writer of McCall's and Redbook magazines.

Mr and Mrs Bush have been married for 73 years and are grandparents and great-grandparents.

They traveled to Texas where the oil business dominated, first in Midland-Odessa, later to the Houston area where George found his love for politics. Proceeds from the books benefited grownup and household literacy packages.
