To that end, Facebook has opted to roll out a "Sleep Mode" feature for the app which will give parents more control over how and when their kids can use it. In the time since its arrival on iOS in December, the app has graduated to Android, but on that same day a report emerged highlighting how numerous "experts" who had vetted the original Messenger Kids app were funded by Facebook.

Google announced late Wednesday it will give parents more control over the videos appearing in their account and on their device, by limiting the videos displayed to those reviewed by human being employees.

During those "off times", the kids will not be able to send or receive messages in the chat app, play with the camera, engage in video calls or receive any sort of notifications of the app.

During the Sleep Mode, if a Child tries to access this Messenger Kids app, he will see a message that the app is in sleep mode and ask him to come later. Parents access the control center through their own Facebook account, where they can stipulate when the app should be on lockdown - "during the week", "weekends", and at specific hours during those periods.

Go to "Sleep Mode" in the App Controls section. Kids won't be unable to use the app during these times.

Parents have told us that they like how Messenger Kids allows them to fully control the contact list and check in on their child's messaging as they're learning to navigate the digital world. The app comes with total parents control feature so parents can setup things for their Children. This ensures that they don't have to constantly monitor or change app controls, giving them the peace of mind for their children. This could be a good time to let them know that you're setting limits for them on Messenger Kids. By adding new features to this Children app, the giant is trying to make it more efficient for the existing users of the app.

You can find the feature on Messenger Kids controls in the main Facebook app. Parents can also delete the account or create a new account for the Kids within the same environment.
