Shaquill Griffin wasn't going to let his twin brother, Shaquem Griffin, miss the best phone call of his life, even if it meant barging into a bathroom to make sure he didn't.

Griffin, 22, attended the first two days of the draft, but was with his family for the third day when he got the call from Seahawks general manager John Schneider. Shaquill Griffin, who started 11 games at cornerback for the Seahawks this past season and he was a third-round selection a year ago, the No. 90 overall pick.

Shaquill and Shaquem were team-mates at Central Florida, Shaquill only agreeing to commit to them if they would also take on his sibling.

The star linebacker had his hand amputated as a child.

Griffin gained nationwide recognition at an National Football League showcase in March after he ran the fastest 40-yard dash for any linebacker since 2003. "We're going to count on him to be a big factor on special teams, which he has shown us that he has a great knack for".

Shaquem Griffin embraces his family during the 2018 Chic-fil-A Peach bowl in Atlanta, GA. He collected 33.5 tackles for loss and 18.5 sacks the past two seasons and was named the conference defensive player of the year (2016) while earning first-team All-AAC recognition each of the past two seasons. We are going to try to put him in spots where we can utilise the great speed he has.

"I tell you, it's unbelievable".

Since the, he's been the talk of the league, and the outpouring of support from the entire NFL and wider sporting community after he was drafted was awesome to see. He also posted 20 bench press reps of 225 pounds while using a prosthetic device. "The ball carriers will be faster and stronger than those at the college level, requiring the defensive players to have good technique to bring them to the ground and end the play".

Shaquill said he lobbied for the Seattle coaching staff to pick his twin in this year's draft, saying he "kept his name fresh in that building".

"I made sure I kept his name fresh in that building", said Shaquill, who started 11 games for Seattle previous year. However, Shaquem Griffin wants to be known as being more than just a feel-good story. Considered by many scouts to be a first-round talent, Hurst, fell all the way to the fifth round (140th overall) before being taken by the Raiders.
