"At the weekend, Childish Gambino (aka musician/actor Donald Glover) released a video for new track 'This is America".

See the full video below, which was directed by Hiro Murai, who has worked on several episodes of "Atlanta".

In the sketch titled, "Lando's Summit", Glover appears as his "Star Wars" character, who's hosting the "first-ever galactic summit for all black humans", but only four people showed up.

The Grammy Award nominee delivered a master class in simplicity as the video shot in a warehouse covers a lot of layers and behind the scene themes delivering great art at a much needed time.

With "This is America, " pop culture's most important multi-hyphenate confronts many issues now facing "the land of the free and home of the brave" - racism, gun violence and police brutality.

Everybody is talking about Childish Gambino's music video "This Is America", which tackles heavy political issues, particularly gun violence.

Glover is expected to drop his as-yet-untitled album in the near-future, and holy christ, do we have exceedingly high hopes.

Catherine Park, an Associate Digital Producer with 11Alive, writes many other articles on entertainment and social media news. His gunning down of the gospel choir singing the lyric suggests that he's exhausted of the pressure to accumulate wealth, to be performatively black, and stay spiritually uplifted in an age of gun violence.

On May 5 Donald Glover hosted and performed on America's favorite live late-night sketch comedy show in New York City.

The video is certainly intriguing and reflects upon what America seems to be experiencing in increased amounts in recent years such as police brutality, gun violence and the influence pop culture has on society.
