Life's a beach for Rory McIlroy as he aims for Players win

Wells Fargo Championship- Round Three

Spieth, meanwhile, played for the first time in 2014 and didn't make a bogey until the 59th hole of the tournament. He reached No 1 for the first time with his runner-up finish in the 2015 PGA Championship, and he returned to the top on three more occasions for a total of 26 weeks. The last couple of years have been pretty darn good.

But on Wednesday, McIlroy told reporters he loves the course these days. "I think it's really fun".

"I feel like I've played a little bit better here as I've gone along, and once I started to be a little bit more conservative, I started to top-10 it and give myself half a chance". It is. It's sort of I stayed pretty much on property there at the - at that hotel, and I just felt like I couldn't get away from it, and it's busy and there's a lot of people, and so to go and stay on the beach now, it's a nice sort of release from everything that's going on around the event.

Woods has won twice at Sawgrass. "I've already been there once this year, and I all I wanted to do this year was give myself chances". "We'll play for whatever makes him uncomfortable".

Rory McIlroy is one of those players. Having recovered from that disappointment, he's looking to get into the winner's circle at more tournaments this year.

"I don't usually bring Col into tournament, only because I typically like to work with him before events", Day said. A good run this week will go a long way in helping Anirban stem the slide and secure his presence in the major events that lay in store over the next few months.

We have got the other three major championships, we've got everything else to play for, so there's a lot of golf to play.

McIlroy said he now looks forward to The Players Championship, even though he has yet to finish closer than four shots of the victor. It can be a punishing course if you're game is slightly off, leaving even the most mentally tough players at a complete loss. I think it is the best golf in all of golf. I look at 2000 as being kind of the benchmark, at the US Open as being the greatest golf I've ever witnessed and I believe ever has been played. The beach here is so much better than the beach we have back in Jupiter.

For his part, 14-time major victor Woods said Mickelson was the name he always looked for on a leaderboard. And the same thing with Jack, where's Arnie at. I actually put a lot of it down to that and I've learnt to like the golf course'. It is often dubbed golf's "fifth major".

"At this point in my career, I obviously have the PGA circled", said Spieth, who only needs the PGA Championship for the career slam. "You can struggle with your swing and struggle with your putting, but if your mental side is on point, you're going to have a chance to win every week".
