City players celebrate their title win

Danilo, Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho all scored to take City's goal tally to 105 for the season, ...

His outing was his first Premier League start of the season with his previous nine appearances having come off the bench.

"Now it's one more game (away against Southampton on Sunday), we're going to try for 100 points and finish this nearly flawless season in the Premier League".

Translating those wins into three points per game, Bob Paisley's side would have earned 98 points across 42 games, compared to City's 100 from a 38-game campaign should they win at St Mary's.

'There aren't many players like Yaya, he's one of the best in the world, ' said Kolo. "[To earn] 97 points is a lot of [and records for] goals and wins, that's a effect of the season we've done".

Toure, 34, is leaving City this summer after an outstanding eight years at the club, a period in which he was won three Premier League titles and four domestic cups.

"It's fantastic because we did that (break the records) in the day we always will remember - the day for Yaya".

Guardiola, talking ahead of City's final home game of the season against Brighton, remained relaxed about the situation, not least because club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, plus chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain are all personal friends.

He also received a huge cheer when he picked out his winning goal against arch-rivals Manchester United in the 2011 FA Cup semi-final as his favourite moment at the club. "Once, a team will arrive and do better than us, but they will have to do really good".

"We will give him what he deserves, one of the most handsome farewells a player can receive", City manager Pep Guardiola wrote in the match programme.

'I want to thank the fans as well because they've been so supportive.

Guardiola would not be drawn on whether the former Gunners midfielder is likely to leave, however.

"If anyone is going to be a legend at this Club, it's this man", Kompany said.
