Asked if Trump's comments through Hicks were incorporated into the final explanation of the meeting, Trump Jr said "I believe some may have been".

Trump Jnr deflected multiple questions during the interview, saying he couldn't recall. Scott Balber, a NY lawyer who represents the Agalarovs and one of many assembly's individuals, Ike Kaveladze, advised ABC Information "the assembly itself was an enormous nothing".

Richard Burr, R-N.C., said Wednesday in a joint statement with its vice chair, Sen.

The Agalarovs had bonded with the Trumps during the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow.

The Senate statement said that the committee's investigation is continuing and that "staff will finalize this chapter of the report on the Intelligence Community's work and submit it for a classification review".

The panel was also not able to interview Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, or Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign chairman, though both attended.

And Goldstone himself said he thought he was bringing a "smoking gun" to the Trump team, even if he believed the meeting was a "bad idea". He testified that he was embarrassed and apologetic when she instead used the session to press her view that the sanctions imposed on Russian Federation for human rights abuses, known as the Magnitsky Act, should be lifted. "I should at least hear them out", he told investigators.

Though panel Republicans conferred with their Democratic counterparts on point-by-point issues during the preparation of the transcripts, their release is expected to touch off a new wave of partisan bickering. Natalia Veselnitskaya's testimony came in the form of written responses to a questionnaire, which is a marvel of two sides talking past each other.

The top Democrat on the House intelligence committee agreed.

In a list of findings, the Democrats say that Trump jnr's willingness to take the meeting with Veselnitskaya "confirms that the Trump campaign was willing to accept Russia's assistance".

Across the Capitol, the Russian Federation probes have been winding down.

In a pair of statements following the meeting, the Republican and Democrat who lead the Senate Intelligence Committee say they have no reason to question the intelligence community's January 2017 report and its conclusions, splitting with House Republicans' recent report disputing the intelligence community's conclusion that Putin favored Trump over Clinton.

The president cheered the House Intelligence Committee's report, claiming on Twitter that it vindicated him by finding there was no evidence his campaign colluded with Russian Federation.

Trump Jr. writes back approvingly, "Thanks Rob I appreciate that".

The special counsel is investigating the Russian meddling in the United States election, whether Trump's campaign was involved and possible obstruction of justice.

Regarding the now infamously misleading statement that Trump Jr. released after news of the June 2016 meeting broke - that the participants had "primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children" - his testimony reveals that his account of what happened diverges materially from reporting by the Washington Post. This email contains a statement drafted by Trump attorney Alan Futerfas attributable to Goldstone.

The revelation raised new questions in regards to the objective of the June assembly, which Trump Jr. initially defined away as being merely about Russian adoptions.
