Rohr releases 30-man provisional list for the World Cup

"The list is fantastic; I believe Rohr has done his homework very well before coming out with the list".

The Super Eagles are not afraid of any opposition in Russia at the World Cup because they are well motivated; the Nigeria Football Federation's 1st Vice-President, Seyi Akinwunmi, has said.

He said: "Junior has proven himself with the Olympic team and he is doing well in his club in Egypt". Training and playing is not the same thing. You don't pick players just to make up the numbers or based on sentiments because the opportunity might come there for him to play - anybody might get injured. "It was the decision of the coach to give me the golden chance and I am focused on giving a good account of myself in the Super Eagles' camp".

"All the same, the coach knows what he is doing and has picked his team, we just have to support him for Nigeria to do well in Russian Federation".

"So, if we go to the World Cup now, our performances will not depend on the quality of the players but on our luck if it can carry us far in the tournament. But the coach has to do whatever he thinks it's the best", said the ex-Flying Eagles coach.

Kano Pillars striker, Junior Lokosa and Crotone attacker, Simeon Nwankwo are the surprise inclusions as Malaga's Brown Ideye was dropped.

About goalkeeping, Siasia wished that Rohr had extended invitation to Ejide for his experience and physicality, but added that Ikechukwu Ezenwa was number one during the qualifiers and should retain that role for World Cup. This Lokosa boy I don't know him.

NAN reports that Nigeria is in Group D alongside Croatia, Iceland and Argentina for the Mundial.
