Battlefield 2

Retaining Battlefield 1's war stories, Battlefield V has another single-player campaign that spans WWII and focuses on key moments throughout and takes players around the globe. This is an interesting spot for the game to launch, as that means it'll be coming out right next to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Operations will be back, called Grand Operations, and players will traverse various battles from the sky to the land while telling a narrative story over four days.

The game is set for release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 19, 2018.

EA has confirmed some extra details about Battlefield V, including microtransactions and lootboxes, as well as more information about its reveal trailer.

One of the more surprising announcements is that Battlefield V will not launch with a Premium Pass of any kind. However, those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will get early access on October 16, while EA and Origin Access members can make use of the Play First Trial on October 11. Fan favorite modes like the 64-player Conquest return, with the game's multiplayer culminating in Grand Operations, an all-new live, event-based experience within Tides of War. No one will need to pay for additional maps or modes that DICE releases. As you fight in epic, unexpected locations across the globe, enjoy the richest and most immersive Battlefield yet. As reports suggested, it is indeed taking us back to World War II. The Company allows players to create and deeply customize their soldiers, weapons and vehicles that will evolve as they progress, covering everything from the way they look to the way they play. The first major drop will take place in November. Interestingly, there was no mention of the heavily rumored battle royale mode that DICE has reportedly been working on.

As for the trailer, it's incredibly unlikely that your actual gameplay experience will even remotely resemble what was shown. Unlike certain past titles in the series, this will be the first Battlefield game that is fully set in World War 2.
