Liverpool are looking to clinch the £60 million (€68m/$80m) signing of Nabil Fekir before he heads off to the World Cup with France.

Olympique Lyon have indicated that they would let their play-maker Nabil Fekir join this year's UEFA Champions League runners-up, Liverpool, if the right fee is paid.

"Talks between the clubs could conclude on Friday about a deal that may amount to 60m euros", reported the BBC.

The France worldwide had not been expected to finalise a switch to Merseyside before the end of this summer's World Cup.

Despite this, Goal understands Liverpool believe a deal can be thrashed out before Fekir flies to Russian Federation with his national team this weekend.

According to the same story, the France global has indicated that he will only move to Liverpool FC in the current transfer window to force Lyon's hand.

Klopp and co. hope to complete the transfer before the commencement of the FIFA World Cup, next week.

"Not set a base price because we have not discussed this yet".

Fekir's arrival will bring some much needed depth to Liverpool's midfield, and is seen as the ideal replacement for Philipe Coutinho, who transferred to Barcelona in January.

According to the Independent, Lyon have changed their stance and are now prepared to sell Fekir to Liverpool before the World Cup kicks off.

Fekir will be the third new player to arrive at Anfield this summer, behind Monaco man Fabinho who was signed earlier this window, and RB Leipzig's Naby Keita, whose signature was acquired last summer.
