Lakers have not offered Brandon Ingram for Kawhi Leonard

San Antonio has seemingly come to the conclusion that trading Leonard would be the best play to run, but it can not afford to let him go without a reasonable return.

National Basketball Association superstar LeBron James informed the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday that he will not exercise his $35.6 million contract option, according to multiple reports, making him the top free agent prize. Per a mid-June report, Kawhi has asked for a trade and made it clear he wants to end up playing for the Lakers.

Assessing Leonard's value at this point is fairly hard, but no doubt San Antonio is doing all they can to make sure they are well-compensated for his services. Wagner couldn't be traded for 30 days once he signs his rookie deal.

Don't expect the Spurs to panic trade Leonard like the Cavaliers did with Kyrie Irving. George is from Palmdale, California, northwest of Los Angeles, and Leonard is from Riverside, 88km east.

The Spurs have received trade offers from the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers, according to ESPN, but reports in the past have identified the Lakers as the team Leonard prefers to be dealt to. Whether or not they play out is one thing, but to say players don't at least engage each other on the subject is another. The scenario that's been placed out there is George and James signing with the Lakers, who haven't made the playoffs the last five years after going 35-47 this season, their best finish since 2012-13. With that being said, there is a very high chance that most, if not all, of the free agents this summer will walk away from the Lakers. James "didn't text" Durant, Vardon tweeted, and he also claimed that James's possible move to the Lakers "would not be sealed (or doomed) by whether or not they trade for Kawhi".

The former Finals MVP disagreed with both the diagnosis and treatment of the injury, eventually seeking an alternative opinion from a doctor of his own choosing - Dr Jonathan Glashow, who also moonlights at the Sixers' chief medical officer. ESPN's Zach Lowe said Thursday on "The Jump" that "not enough people are considering" that James may, indeed, "come alone" to the Lakers.

Leonard was effective when he was able to play last season, averaging 16.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
