Toto Wolff knows how to get the best out of Lewis Hamilton

Also incompetent.Who? Kimi? Who's he to judge what a driver is doing in the auto?

Referring to an incident at Le Castellet last month, where Vettel hit Valtteri Bottas at the first corner, he explained: "It's two races in which a Mercedes has been taken out by a Ferrari".

Hamilton's Mercedes boss Toto Wolff had also waded into the row, quoting the team's British technical director James Allison who had been with Ferrari until making the switch in 2016. The win - on a track eight miles from Mercedes' Brackley factory - was laden with emotion and after he crossed the finish line it spilled out over the team radio.

LEWIS Hamilton has been accused of crying "like a girl" by Kimi Raikkonen's missus - and told to take up ballet.

"If it had been Bottas, it would have been five seconds, that's the thing", he stated, clearly unimpressed with the FIA's way of handling things.

Raikkonen was at fault for the coming together and the stewards concurred as they slapped the Ferrari driver with a 10-second penalty.

Hamilton had started on pole after a terrific drive saw him pip his Ferrari rivals in qualifying. "Interesting tactics I would say from their side, but we'll do what we can to fight them".

Later asked if he was "comfortable" with the incident, Wolff replied: "I'm not comfortable at all with the incident because it's tiresome to be taken out in the first lap".

Hamilton and Mercedes will renew their rivalry with Ferrari at Vettel's home race in Germany a week on Sunday. "Valtteri and I have both lost out in those scenarios".

About conceding the lead to championship leader Sebastian Vettel from pole, Lewis Hamilton can have no quarrel.

Sebastian Vettel opened a clear lead in the drivers' world championship on Sunday when he wrecked Lewis Hamilton's home-race party and claimed an impressive victory in a thrilling British Grand Prix. "It's silly to think that anything happened was deliberate".

"Silverstone is a special event on the calendar and we want to do all we can to ensure it stays on the schedule for a long time", he said.

"It's a small advantage at this time but Ferrari has done a good job".

Former F1 star Jenson Button however didn't believe Ferrari intentionally rammed Hamilton.

Victory went to Apollo Racing No 2, a two-man team made up of Ben Taylor, 17, and his godfather Jes Featherstone, 43. "But it's tough and there is high tension", Button said. "If BWT decides to walk out of Formula One, I can't be stuck with the BWT chassis name". Finding new and more ways to engage with the fans is massively important to me, they make the sport what it is. "You try not to but sometimes you slip up".

Raikkonen was then all over the back of Hamilton's Mercedes gearbox, and the Finn locked up at the right-handed turn three and slammed into his opponent.

Kevin Magnussen scored just two points for Haas after starting the race from seventh place, and Pierre Gasly finished 10th for Toro Rosso. Despite regular big crowds the future of the Silverstone race is in doubt after it triggered a break clause in its contract previous year which will end its tenure as host after 2019 unless it reaches a new deal with F1. It was my mistake so that was fine.
