Demi Lovato 'getting better' after reported overdose

Demi Lovato remains in the hospital after suffering "complications" following last week's apparent overdose.

"Demi is getting better day-by-day with the help of her family, friends and Wilmer", the source says. Then Radar Online reported that Demi and co. were partying hard for her backup dancer/BFF Dani Vitale's birthday.

The 25-year-old singer was taken to hospital last week after she allegedly took a mystery substance and was found unconscious in her home, and now her tour mate and collaborator DJ Khaled has sent a message of support to her, wishing her a speedy recovery. "He seems very concerned about her". In a lengthy post, she informed fans that she was not with Lovato at the time of her overdose, and called for an end to "negativity".

The rep also stated that some of the information being reported is "incorrect" and Lovato's family "respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now". Speaking to TMZ in NY on Monday (30Jul18), Khaled said, "I love Demi and Demi's gonna be great".

The dancer then went on to say that she understands that fans are anxious about Demi, "I know you're all feeling lost without her at this moment in time", she added in the post.

Demi Lovato has been open about her struggle with addiction and even released a single called "Sober" where she talked about her struggle and how she fell off the sobriety train. "Remember that you have always been a community of Lovatics who LOVE", Vitale said. 'Please remember that when you take out your phones and start typing. Remember that we love her more than we can ever put into words. Our thoughts are with her as she recovers.

After hearing this news, fans later ripped apart Dani on her Instagram page, lashing out at Vitale for her alleged part in the overdose.

The "Tell Me You Love Me" singer's family and friends are hoping she checks into rehab, but ultimately the decision will be hers. Just a few months later, however, she released a new song, "Sober", in which she admitted to having relapsed.

'She is doing OK, but is still being monitored, ' they told People.

They have remained close following their split, with the Camp Rock actress recently admitting the That 70's Show star is the "love of her life".
