Apple pens date for expected Mac updates

Apple pens date for expected Mac updates

We're expecting lots from the iPad Pro 2018, but one thing we wouldn't have expected is for Apple to include a USB-C port on the slate, given that it's a fan of proprietary charging ports.

Apple is hosting the keynote at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City; the image above is of the current-gen iPad Pro that should be significantly updated.

Japanese blog Mac Otakara is now getting in on the action. The designs are also used on Apple's event website. The model expected to launch on October 30 is the 2018 version of the iPad Pro. If legit, this means the smaller iPad Pro model will measure in at 178mm wide and 247mm tall, while the larger-screened model will come in at 215mm x 280mm.

But with a new iPad Pro launch happening at the end of this month, I've started thinking about what it would take for me to jump back onto the iPad bandwagon.

Apple will hold a product announcement on October 30 in NY, where it will likely unveil new iPads and Mac computers. However other rumours contradict this, suggesting 3.5mm headphone jacks will be dropped in favour of lightning ports.

Based on what you've heard and seen of the rumored 2018 iPad Pro lineup so far, are you planning on upgrading when Apple launches them?

Specifically, Apple is rumored to be adopting an iPhone X-like design, with minimized bezels and dropping the physical Home button. There's also the Mac mini, which has not been updated since 2014. We'll have to see if Apple alters the security measure to reflect this.
