'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4' Racks Up $500 Million in Sales in 3 Days

Activision's Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4 has sold more than $500 million in sell-through worldwide in its first three days of release as the total number of players climbed from past year. In addition to $500 million in launch sales, Black Ops 4 also sets record numbers for the franchise in players, hours played, and even hours watched on Twitch! Besides sales, the quantity of players and hours put into the experience has increased over the last few releases over that timeframe as well.

Treyarch revealed earlier this week that a "substantial" update would be making its way into Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 but they also recently revealed that the new patch will also come with the title's first Double XP Weekend!

"We would also like to take this opportunity to talk about Featured Playlists in Black Ops 4 since we're doing things a little differently with playlists in this game", Treyarch continued. The real test will be how it continues to sell in the coming weeks.

"Black Ops 4 isn't short on content, and its three main modes are substantial". More information about Activision and its products can be found on the company's website, www.activision.com or by following @Activision. Through its first three days, PC digital sales and active players are up significantly from previous year.

The record for this 500 million figure includes the full game digital and retail sales as well as any special or collector's edition including the season pass. Total players, hours per player, total hours played, and Twitch viewership based on Activision data.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out now for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We'll be sure to update this feature as that information becomes available, as well as provide more detail on the characters we're now missing.

Another record is for day on digital sales on Playstation through Playstation Store worldwide.
