Samsung gives peek at device that will fold

While this isn't a finished device, and the eventual commercially available version will be different, they were showing off the Infinity Flex Display, the development of which included inventing brand new materials to make it out of. If other Go devices are any indication, the Galaxy J4 Core will be priced pretty fairly; its predecessor costs just over a hundred bucks. Pricing and availability are yet to be announced. Now, it is evolving into a scalable, open AI platform to support many devices, including fridge and TVs.

The foldable smartphone was first demonstrated by Samsung last month during its developer conference.

This means that the new S Pen could eventually offer more exciting remote control features depending on whether developers build it into their apps.

The device could have multiple screens or at least one can run more than one application at a time and since the foldable phone is still work in progress, there may be many variations from now and when the final design is signed off.

Folded in two, it appeared to resemble a thick phone.

Other companies: Google has started working on foldable devices, too, The Verge reports.

Samsung also revealed more details about the foldable phone's aspect ratios and resolution.

Samsung is promoting the idea of "share app ideas and share alike"; write an app for a smartphone and modify it using Developer Studio into a home-based app for the Samsung platform, if desired.

Samsung, which makes iPhone OLED displays, will get us even closer if that Infinity-O screen prediction turns out to be accurate. "The experience was reengineered to reduce clutter and distractions, allowing the user to better focus and quickly navigate".

Dave Burke, vice president of engineering at Google, said at the Android Developer Summit that Google is "enhancing Android to take advantage of this new form factor with as little work as necessary". Huawei is planning to release a 5G foldable phone in mid-2019.
